The Indiana Board of Directors urges each one of you to come to a day-long celebration on July 29, 2000. The morning will begin with an introduction to your new State Board members at 9:30 a.m. Following the introductions will be a session entitled "Getting to Know You." Lunch will be served at 12:00 Noon and we will conclude at 3:00 p.m.

So – who should attend? All leaders within each branch of Indiana – present, past, and prospective are expected.

What is a leader? Webster’s defines a leader as a person who has commanding authority and influence. Generally we think of leaders as those who campaign to win our vote, who call a meeting to order, and who delegate tasks. But leading also includes initiating a conversation, inspiring a shared vision, and enabling others to act.

During the day, we will discover that leadership is a journey. We will assess our leadership styles and our leadership readiness. We will celebrate who we are and where we are. We are going to celebrate and celebrate some more.

Our celebration will be held at Somerset Lakes Clubhouse, 3202 East 76^th Street, Indianapolis.  There is no cost to attend this celebration. Even though it’s free, you will receive much!

Each branch in Indiana is expected and wanted. Please make certain your branch is represented. The state president will call you to verify a leader’s attendance.
