Presidents/Administrators, State Membership Vice Presidents, Branch
Membership Vice Presidents, Leadership Corps, Branch Bylaws Officers,
State Bylaws Officers:
As you probably know, distribution of this guidance has been delayed by the changes that were recently made to the DC laws applicable to all nonprofit organizations incorporated in Washington, DC. These changes have required AAUW to make conformative changes to our 2011 Bylaws, some of which therefore require our branches and states to make conformative changes as well. (Remember, conformative changes do not require a vote.)
These mandatory changes are detailed in this memo, along with some required changes in your policies/procedures. There is also a checklist at the bottom of this memo that delineates issues that must be reflected in your bylaws.
Please follow the instructions in the memo regarding sending your completed bylaws to AAUW, and remember that you can always get help by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
