The 2000 Indiana State Convention will be at The Patio restaurant, 7706 Broadway, Merrillville. South Lake County is serving as our host branch with Gary-Merrillville and Calumet Area branches assisting.

9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. – "Life After Litigation," Dr. Beth Kern, former LAF litigant

9:45 a.m. – Break

10:00 a.m. – Welcome – Donna Akin, president, South Lake County branch, Business meeting/election of officers – Joan Kutlu, president

10:45 a.m. – Break/EF/LAF sales

11:00 a.m. – Proposed Changes in Social Security Affecting Women and Children, Pamela Gaines, Public Affairs Specialist, Northwest IN, Social Security Administration

12:00 noon – Lunch – "Challenges to Public Education," Leader on Loan Susan Cairone of Cheswick, Pennsylvania

1:30 p.m. – Break/EF/LAF sales

1:45 p.m. – Idea exchange

Lunch (breast of chicken Marnier sauteed in orange zest and juice, mushrooms, rice, green beans, carrots, coffee, tea, and cake) and the continental breakfast are included in the registration fee of $25 (see Registration Form). Remember to sign up for the Idea Exchange!
