Educational Foundation

Beth LeRoy, educational foundation

Welcome to spring and our first year with new contribution deadlines of January 1 to December 31. This new deadline will make it easier for staff to have more time to get reports ready for national convention. It also means you can make your contributions to the Foundation via the state any time before December 15.

I would like to thank the branches that have already sent in contributions for this year. Keep up the good work. In conjunction with your contribution, please remember to designate where you wish to money to go. We are still asking that monies be designated to the Maryhelen Barnes (aka The Hat Lady) Fellowship.

Challenge

For the last few years our contribution level has been below the $30,000 mark. I am challenging you to raise our total back to this level. I know we can do it!

Ways to Help the Foundation

There are many ways of giving that will aid the Foundation that do not require a great deal of cash outlay and help both you and the Foundation.

Market securities, life insurance, and real estate can be given and you receive an immediate IRS tax deduction for the full value, thus serving both you and the Foundation.

Pooled income fund, life income gifts, and charitable gift annuities all require a gift of $5000 initially which gives you an immediate income tax reduction. Subsequently, you will receive a quarterly distribution income check.
