Indiana State
Convention
Making
a Case for Women
April 29, 2000
Join all your AAUW friends at the 2000 state convention in Merrillville. The South Lake County branch is host, assisted by Gary-Merrillville and Calumet Area. A great program has been planned by your state board – interesting speakers, an information/idea exchange, networking among other branches, and even a door prize!
The continental breakfast and lunch (breast of chicken Marnier sauteed in orange zest and juice, mushrooms, rice, green beans, carrots, coffee, tea, and cake) are included in the registration fee of $25 (see Registration Form).
If you want to arrive on Friday and do some shopping, South Lake Mall is very near with lots of great stores. Or, stay to shop after the convention on Saturday!
Arrangements for rooms have been made with Days Inn in
Merrillville
for those wanting to stay Friday or Saturday night. Call 219/736-5252,
ask for the block of rooms in Donna Akin’s name. Cost is $55 for a double
room plus 5% tax. Days Inn is only a short distance from the convention
site at The Patio. They have a heated indoor pool and an exercise room.
