The Leadership Plenary at the Great Lakes Regional Conference on Sunday, June 11 is being organized by Patrice Buzzanell, Ph.D., Purdue University, in collaboration with Alice Smith and Alice Huebner of the Great Lakes Regional Planning Committee. The session is designed to enhance the leadership skills of every AAUW member in attendance.
Dr. Buzzanell is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at Purdue, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as leadership, careers, research methods, gender and organizational communication. She has taught at Northern Illinois University, Michigan State University, the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, University of Michigan-Flint, and the Krannert Executive Education Programs at Purdue University.
Of central concern to Patrice is how we communicate in ways that disenfranchise others, that fail to promote values that matter in a worthy life, and harm peoples’ abilities to develop their own and others’ potential.
Patrice has worked with the AAUW-Illinois, Inc. leadership group over
the past several years, first as a keynote speaker, then as a presenter
of preliminary data gathered on leadership images and needs.
