Dr. Clauss brings a multi-faceted academic background to her position which encompasses family studies as well as Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Changes in teacher licensure in Indiana have required changes in the ways teachers are prepared for their profession. Standards for performance are essential elements of such preparation, and the FCS discipline is progressive in standards development.
Dr. Clauss participates extensively in university and state initiatives to create and maintain cutting edge teacher preparation tools. The dynamic nature of Family and Consumer Sciences affords ample opportunity for curriculum development, as well.
