You probably
realize how important good advice is as you begin a new venture.
You will find that an important part of your educational
experience is the information you receive from your academic
advisor. In the Department of Art, I am the academic advisor for
all undergraduate art students. I have been working with
students in this role for a long time. I know how important advising is and I look forward to working with you.
An academic advisor has a different role than a high school
counselor.
As a college student, it is expected that you will be making
more of your own decisions, based on the information that you
receive. I have a clear understanding of requirements and will
help guide you as you make progress towards completing your
degree. I will help you understand requirements and how to meet
them, but you will be making your own specific choices @ many of which will have a significant impact on your future.
I maintain regular hours and really enjoy the opportunity to
get to know all of our students on a one-to-one basis. I am
happy to answer questions through correspondence by mail or
e-mail. If you plan to visit campus, let me know and we can
arrange a time to meet. I hope to see you soon.
