2001: The Sycamores No. 1 starter for the second-straight year, who made a team-high 13 starts • the left-hander was also the team leader in innings pitched (84) and strike outs (72) • against Creighton (April 20), he posted a career-high 13 strikeouts, the most by an ISU hurler since Aric LeClair turned the same feat on April 29, 2000 against Northern Iowa • he had four eight-plus strikeout performances and five performances where he allowed two or less earned runs. 2000: As a true freshman, he led ISU in wins (10), innings pitched (93.0), strikeouts (74), complete games and shutouts en route to earning MVC Freshman of the Year honors • he also was tabbed freshman first-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, freshman honorable mention All-American by Baseball America and to second team of ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region team • he held opponents to a dismal .201 batting average. HIGH SCHOOL: A two-sport team MVP, baseball and basketball • named player of the year in baseball by Evansville Courier • earned all-conference honors in football • he lettered three years in football, basketball and baseball • played in the state of Indiana North/South game • his senior year in baseball, he he hit .424 with 6 home runs and as a pitcher, he posted a 4-3 mark with a 0.79 ERA • attended the same high school as former Sycamore pitcher and current New York Yankee, Alex Graman.
