2002 Pre-NCAA Meet Information
1.  Showers will be available after the meet at the Arena on ISU’s campus; however, showers are not be available at the course.

2.  Results for the Women’s 6k and Men’s 8k races will be available at the race site immediately after the last race.  The results will also be posted on our web site: http://web.indstate.edu/athletic/cross/2002prencaa.html.

3.  The race site is the LaVern Gibson Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.  The course is located east of Terre Haute.  The course is  rolling and challenging.  Please take a look at the following course maps for the 6,000 and the 8,000 meter layouts. Because of the size of this meet, we ask you to follow the team entrance route.  This may be different than how you have previously come to the course.  If you follow this route, you will have no problem getting caught in traffic.  Likewise, please tell your fans and parents to follow the designated spectator route.  These are the same routes we will use for the NCAA Meet on November 25, 2002.  There will be a $5.00 charge per individual spectator, and that amount will be collected as the cars pull into the gate.

4.  The entry fee will be $200.00 per team (men and women separate).  We will have packet pick-up at the course on both Friday and Saturday.  You will be able to pick up packets on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  On Saturday, packet pick-up will start at 9:00 a.m.  The packet pick-up area will be just in front of the green pole barn.

5.  You may run up to seven runners in the team races.  If you travel with more than seven competitors, please have those extra runners compete in the open race.  Unattached/open runners/club runners are not permitted in any of the races.  In the two seeded races, you must run full teams.  The NCAA Cross Country Sub-Committee will decide the makeup of the seeded heats.  The men's and women's blue and white sections will have the top-ranked programs evenly divided between them, ensuring top competition in each.  The fields for these seeded races will be announced on the Indiana State website (http://web.indstate.edu/athletic/cross/2002prencaa.html) at noon on Wednesday, October 16, 2002.

6.  If you still have not entered your team in the meet, please fax the entry form mailed to you earlier this year to ISU by Wednesday, October 9, 2002 .  If you would like to receive a copy of the entry form, please contact John Gartland via e-mail. If you do not meet this deadline, your team will not be considered for either of the seeded races.  If you enter your team by fax and then later change your mind about coming, please e-mail us as soon as you can.

7.  Chip timing will be utilized.  You will receive two chips for each individual you entered. Regardless of which race your athletes are in, they must run with a chip in each shoe lace.  The chips will be collected in the chute at the conclusion of each race.  There will be a $10.00 charge for any misplaced chips.

8.  Please check our web site (http://web.indstate.edu/athletic/cross/2002prencaa.html) for any changes, team additions and other information as the date of the meet approaches.
