SYCAMORES WIN ISU
INVITE
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana
State men’s cross country team won the 2005 ISU Invite (8k)
on Saturday (Sept. 10) with a strong team performance. The Sycamores
had five runners finish in the top nine spots to earn a team score
of 31. Louisville came in second with 34 points, while Butler took
third place with 71 points.
Sean Bowman led the Sycamores, taking third place
in the meet with a time of 26:03. Blaine Zimmerman came in fourth,
crossing the finish line in 26:08. Sophomore Antonio McDaniel turned
in his second top-ten performance of the season with a time of 26:32.
Kyle Walsh took eighth place with a time of 26:39
before teammate Justin Kunz posted a mark of 26:52 to earn a ninth-place
finish. Senior Jon Nay came across the tape in 11th place (27:03).
Erik Forehand finished 14th (27:17) while David Santelik took 15th
place (27:24). Jeremy Kunz rounded out the Sycamore lineup, finishing
18th with a time of 28:06.
The Sycamores return to action on Friday (Sept.
16) when both the men’s and women’s team compete in
the Indiana Intercollegiates, hosted by Indiana University.
