2006 Outlook — Crafty
veteran, is one of the most dependable members
of the Sycamore football team ... Is
hardworking, smart and has the size to be an
effective center in the Gateway.
2005 — Fully recovered
from several knee surgeries to have a break-out
year along the offensive line ... Named
All-Gateway Conference Second Team in 2004. He
started all 11 contests on the Sycamore
offensive line. He was in all snaps for an
offense that passed for a school-record 2,906
yards. Thorpe was a lead blocker for a stable of
running backs that rushed for 1,208 yards during
the season. Thorpe is ISU’s first sophomore to
be named all-conference since Kyle Mitchell
earned an all-league spot in 2003.
2004 — Opening day
starter at center versus Miami (Ohio) where he
suffered a season-ending knee injury.
2003 — Sat out the season
as a redshirt.
High School — Tough-nosed
player who was a high school teammate of former
Sycamore, Shawn Stackhouse ... A two-year
letterwinner along the line, he was an honorable
mention all-stater and was an all-area and
all-conference player his senior season.
