JAMIE PETROWSKI OFF TO SOLID START WITH FRANKFORT GALAXY

FRANKFORT, Germany Former Indiana State tight end Jamie Petrowski (Terre Haute, Ind./North Vigo) is off to a solid start through five games with the Frankfort Galaxy of NFL Europe.

He capped off his finest game on May 6 when he paced the Galaxy with five pass receptions for 76 yards in a narrow 19-17 loss at Amsterdam. His long pass reception of the season was a 30-yarder off the arm of quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan versus the Admirals.

Petrowski has caught at least one pass in each of his five games with the Galaxy.

The Frankfort Galaxy are currently first in the NFL Europe standings with a 3-2 overall record.

Former Indiana State WR Carl Berman, who earned a free agent try-out with the Washington Redskins has been invited to continue with the club. Berman worked out with the Redskins on May 3-5, and was impressive enough to earn a return invitation.

Former Indiana State P­K Kyle Hooper has recently joined the Fort Wayne Fusion of the Arena Football 2 League. The Fusion are currently 2-5 on the season, their first with the af2. Hooper has connected on 2-of-7 field goal attempts, with his longest successful field goal being a 38-yarder. Hooper is currently fifth on the team with 29 points scored. He is also handling the team’s kickoff duties.

Former Indiana State LB LaDrelle Bryant is in his first season with Evansville BlueCats on the United Indoor Football League. Bryant was named the UIF’s Defensive Player of the Week in week two of the season for his 7.5 tackle and two sack effort against Ohio Valley. The BlueCats are currently 2-5 on the season. Bryant is playing defensive line after also playing the same position last season with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.
