SYCAMORES' WIN STREAK SNAPPED BY BRADLEY

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State University Sycamores lost on the home court for the first time this season as the visiting Bradley Braves took control in the second half to defeat the Sycamores 76-59 Saturday night in Hulman Center.

“We got outplayed in about everyway you can image,” ISU Coach Royce Waltman said.

The Sycamores had a two point lead midway through the first half but could not keep the momentum. Bradley came back and led by 15 points at the break, 37-22. ISU kept fighting back and got within six points in the second half but the Braves would not led ISU any closer.

“We had a lot of trouble defending against their three point shot,” ISU’s Trent Wurtz said. “That spread us out defensively and opened up the middle for them.”

Wurtz led the Sycamores with 14 points while Gabe Moore added 11 points and had six assists. Jay Tunnell had eight points and nine rebounds.

“We wanted to go undefeated at home but this is just one game,” Gabe Moore added. “We have to come on Monday, practice hard and learn from our mistakes.”

Indiana State fell to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference with the loss. The  Sycamores will be on the road for the next two games, visiting Drake next Thursday (Jan. 18) and then traveling to Northern Iowa next Saturday (Jan. 20).Tip-off for both games is 8:05 p.m. (EST)
