TRENT WURTZ NAMED COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State senior Trent Wurtz (Sheboygan, Wis./George Mason) has earned mention on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Five Team. Wurtz is a member of the first team, and will move onto the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot.

Wurtz, who carries a perfect 3.75 GPA is Communications, is averaging 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this year. Wurtz scored a season-best 21 points at IPFW and then again against Northern Iowa. He pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds against Tulane, matching his 12 carom performance against Indiana one year earlier.

Wurtz dished out four assists versus Purdue and posted four steals in the road victory over IPFW. He has been in double figures scoring nine games this year.

Indiana State returns to action February 8, when they travel to Wichita State for a key road Missouri Valley Conference contest. Tip-off is slated for 8:05 p.m. (ET).
