INDIANA STATE FALLS IN SECOND HALF VERSUS BRADLEY
PEORIA, Ill. –
The Bradley Braves used a technical foul to spark their second half
run to down Indiana State 74-58 at Carver Arena in Peoria Illinois
Saturday night. With the loss, Indiana State is the number ten seed
in next week’s State Farm Missouri Valley Conference tournament in
St. Louis.
Bradley (20-11, 10-8) head
coach Jim Les was given a technical early in the second half. ISU
(12-17, 5-13) tied the score at 36. The Braves then went on a 14-3
run over the next five minutes thanks to four three pointers to make
it 50-39. The Sycamores got as close at eight 50-42 on a Jay
Tunnell (Topeka, KS) three from the top of the key.
In the first half, ISU
trailed by seven early on, but then an 11-4 run tied it at 11 thanks
to a three by the freshmans Cole Holmstrom (Bloomington, IN) and
Marico Stinson (Memphis, TN). Bradley found the range and pushed
the lead to six, 21-15 after a Daniel Ruffin fastbreak lay-up. The
Sycamores answered with a Tunnell bucket, then a three followed by a
Holmstrom three to take a 22-21 lead. ISU then took their biggest
lead of the game at four on a Gabe Moore (Little Rock, Ark) reverse
lay-up from Trent Wurtz (Sheboygan, WI). Bradley would close out
the half on a 13-5 run and lead 34-30 at the break.
Tunnell led the Sycamores
with 14 points while Gabe Moore added 10. Adam Arnold tied his
career high with 11 rebounds. ISU outrebounded the Braves 33-30 but
turned it over 18 times, 12 in the second half.

QUICK NOTES
** Adam Arnold tied his
career high in rebounds with 11. He previously had 11 against
Evansville back on January 24th at the Hulman Center.
** Gabe Moore had seven
assists tonight, giving him 300 in his career. Moore also had one
steal, giving his 133 in his career. That ties him with David Moss
for sixth all-time at Indiana State.
