INDIANA STATE FALLS IN SECOND HALF VERSUS BRADLEY

PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley Braves used a technical foul to spark their second half run to down Indiana State 74-58 at Carver Arena in Peoria Illinois Saturday night.  With the loss, Indiana State is the number ten seed in next week’s State Farm Missouri Valley Conference tournament in St. Louis.

Bradley (20-11, 10-8) head coach Jim Les was given a technical early in the second half.  ISU (12-17, 5-13) tied the score at 36.  The Braves then went on a 14-3 run over the next five minutes thanks to four three pointers to make it 50-39.  The Sycamores got as close at eight 50-42 on a Jay Tunnell (Topeka, KS) three from the top of the key.

In the first half, ISU trailed by seven early on, but then an 11-4 run tied it at 11 thanks to a three by the freshmans Cole Holmstrom (Bloomington, IN) and Marico Stinson (Memphis, TN).  Bradley found the range and pushed the lead to six, 21-15 after a Daniel Ruffin fastbreak lay-up.  The Sycamores answered with a Tunnell bucket, then a three followed by a Holmstrom three to take a 22-21 lead.  ISU then took their biggest lead of the game at four on a Gabe Moore (Little Rock, Ark) reverse lay-up from Trent Wurtz (Sheboygan, WI).  Bradley would close out the half on a 13-5 run and lead 34-30 at the break.

Tunnell led the Sycamores with 14 points while Gabe Moore added 10.  Adam Arnold tied his career high with 11 rebounds.  ISU outrebounded the Braves 33-30 but turned it over 18 times, 12 in the second half.
