INDIANA STATE'S SEASON ENDS WITH LOSS TO CREIGHTON

ST. LOUIS - Indiana State’s season came to end Friday night with a poor shooting performance in a 59-38 to Creighton in the quarterfinals of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference tournament.   The Sycamores (13-18) shot just 23.3 for the game, and making just four field goals in the second half. 

ISU led by as many as six in the first half, thanks to their outside touch.  The first four field goals where three pointers, while Trent Wurtz (Sheboygan, WI) was fouled on a three attempted an hit all of his free throws.   The Bluejays (20-10) came back on back to back buckets by Nate Funk.  The score was tied at 17 with 6:50 left but Creighton went on a 15-3 run to close out the first half.

In the second half, it was all Creighton, as they shot 47.4 percent from the field and held a 21-3 advantage on points off of turnovers.

Adam Arnold (Decatur, IN) was the only Sycamore in double figures with 11 points.  Mick Yelovich (Mt. Zion, IL) had eight.
