TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball Team fell to the Indiana State Sycamores 58-50 Saturday night in the NCAA/OUA Tip-Off Classic. The game was played in front of 848 people at the St. Denis Centre.

The Lancers got off to a quick start as standout transfer Greg Surmacz (Kirkwood College) had 6 early points to stake Windsor to an early 17-6 lead.

Both teams struggled from the field through the first half and looked rusty in their first game back in 2006. The Sycamores were able to cut into the lead near the end of the half and trailed Windsor at halftime 28-19.

In the second half, Indiana State came out with more energy, while the Lancers continued to struggle from the field, as the Sycamores evened the score at 41-41.

Both teams tired near the end of the game, as Indiana State was finally able to seize control late in the contest en route to the 58-50 victory.

Kevin Kloostra paced the Lancers with 17 points and 6 rebounds while Greg Surmacz added 9 points and 7 rebounds in his Lancer debut.

On the night, the Lancers shot 31% from the field, including 27% from 3-point range. Indiana State shot 36% from the field, including 35% from beyond the arc.

Indiana State was led by guard Cole Holmstrom who had 17 points and 4 rebounds on the evening.

The Canadian tour continues tomorrow when the Sycamores face off against Lambton at 3:00 p.m. (EST).
