SYCAMORES INK FOUR
STUDENT-ATHLETES FOR 2007-08
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State University men’s
basketball head Coach Royce Waltman announced today (Nov. 8) that
three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to
join the Sycamores for the 2007-08 season.
Indiana State will add forward Clayton Vette (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell
Rock) and guards John Ashworth (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central),
Jordan Printy (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Marr) and Aaron Carter (Leopold,
Ind./Perry Central).

Player Capsules:
John Ashworth – During the 2006-07 season,
Ashworth averaged 15 points, four rebounds and four assists per
game for the Franklin Central. The Flashes finished the year with
a 15-8 record and look to have another strong year under Head Coach
Mark James. Ashworth has averaged 9.7 points, three rebounds and
3.1 assists per game while playing AAU ball.
Aaron Carter – Carter averaged 25 points
and 10.9 rebounds per game for Perry Central, setting him apart
among the top in rebounding in the state. During the season, the
swingman hit 48-percent from the field, including 39.5-
percent from beyond the three-point arc. Carter is rated as one
of Indiana’s top 20 players overall.
Jordan Printy – Considered one of the best shooting
guards in the state of Iowa, Printy averaged 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds
and 2.5 assists per game for Linn-Marr High School. Along the way
he helped the Lions advance to the Iowa Class 4A Final Four. Printy
has a three-point percentage estimated in the 40 percent range.
Clayton Vette – Vette earned first-team
All-State playing for Waverly-Shell Rock in northeastern Iowa. During
the 2006-07 season, Vette averaged 16.7 points per game, culminating
in a 17 point and 14 rebound effort in the Iowa 3A state finals.
