SYCAMORE HOOPLA! WILL BE FAMILY FUN AT ITS BEST

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Hulman Center will have something for everyone in the family during Sycamore Hoopla, three fun-filled days of exciting basketball and a whole lot more Feb. 2-4!

Come early on Friday night and check out the car show on the south plaza, courtesy of Wabash Valley car dealers. Hulman Center’s enormous windows will be decorated by campus organizations, departments and members of the Terre Haute community. Come vote for your favorite window; awards will be presented Saturday, Feb. 3.

Prior to the women’s matchup with Southern Illinois enjoy the entertainment provided by the Marching Sycamores and the ISU Sparkettes. Immediately following the game, Hulman Center will transform into a dance hall for the Sycamore Sockhop! Music will be provided by MIX-FM.

On Saturday, six former athletes and one coach will be inducted into the Indiana State University Athletic Hall of Fame. Vickie Parker Vallie (women’s bowling), Ed Slezak (men’s gymnastics), Mike Simmonds (football), Patricia Porter Buttice (women’s basketball), Carl Nicks (men’s basketball), Mike Gardiner (baseball) and Dr. Levon Garrison (women’s bowling coach) will be inducted into the Class of 2007 of the ISU Athletic Hall of Fame. ISU’s newest hall of famers will be introduced as part of halftime festivities of the men’s game.

The fun and festivities continue on Saturday with a 4:05 p.m. tipoff between Royce Waltman’s squad and Missouri State Bears. Immediately following the conclusion of the game, winners in the window decorating will be announced. At approximately 6:15 p.m., catch former Sycamore hoopsters in action during the men’s alumni basketball game.

The weekend concludes on Sunday, Feb. 4 with the ISU women’s 2 p.m. tipoff verses Evansville. Prior to the matchup, ISU women’s basketball alumni are invited to a pre-game reception sponsored by the President’s Office.

There will be discounted tickets for this fun-filled weekend. For $25, fans will receive a ticket to all three games, plus a free ticket to the Monday, Feb. 5 men’s game. People who attend the North-South game will get half price off their tickets for any one of the games that weekend. North-South tickets must be presented at the Hulman Center Ticket Office to qualify for the discount. Only one discount will be given per game ticket.
