2006 – Wood, a former Indiana Miss Softball and Gatorade Player of the Year, earned All-MVC First Team and was named conference pitcher of the week on April 10 and March 28 during the 2006 season ... Earned a 1.56 ERA winning 21 games and appearing on the mound 42 times…Pitched 242.2 innings totaling 264 strikeouts…Broke her own school record for strikeouts with 264 beating out her 2005 record of 203... Held opponents to a (.214) batting average and lead the conference in strikeouts (264) and the 3rd best ERA (1.56) and had a personal best 21 victories ... With an outstanding year Wood has also entered the Sycamore single season record books in many different categories: 2nd in shutouts (11), 9th in ERA (1.56), 4th in pitching victories (30), 1st in strikeouts (264), and has won the MVC player of the week award more then any player in Sycamore history (3).

2005 – Posted a 2.34 ERA appearing on the mound 34 times…achieved a 9-17 record on the season... Pitched 197.2 innings and 203 strikeouts…Named MVC Pitcher of the Week on February 22. Set the team record for strikeouts in a season with 203.

High School – Finished one of the most heralded softball careers in Indiana High School Athletic Association history by leading Center Grove to the IHSAA State Championship contest in both her junior and senior seasons…Claimed Class 4A title her junior season before tossing all 12 innings in a losing effort as a senior…Compiled a 25-2 record her final season, with 19 shutouts and seven no-hitters…Recorded 443 strikeouts and compiled a 0.21 ERA in 200.2 innings…Was named the 2004 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year as well as Indiana’s Ms. Softball… Broke a state and her own school record with her 443 punchouts as a senior…Named the Indianapolis Star Player of the Year twice…Two-time all-state and all-conference selection…Won the 2004 Johnson County Female Athlete of the Year Award…Two-time team MVP…Featured in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd section in the fall of 2004.

Personal – Born Darcy Ann Wood on October 6, 1985 to Mary Kay and Randy Wood…Majoring in Elementary Education and plans to become a Third grade teacher.
