SYCAMORES TRAVEL TO PLAY THE SHOCKERS OF WICHITA STATE FOR A WEEKEND SERIES

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – In Missouri Valley Conference play every game is a tough one and this weekend is no different as the Sycamores travel to Wichita, Kan. to play the Wichita State University Shockers for a three game weekend series beginning Friday, April 6 running through Saturday, April 7.

The twinbill scheduled for Friday, April 6 begins at 1:00 p.m. central time with the second game starting at 3:00 p.m. central. The series finale on Saturday, April 7 will begin at 1:00 p.m. central.

The Sycamores record sits at (15-15, 1-7 MVC) after last weekend’s rainout at Northern Iowa. The Shockers own a record of (18-23, 6-5 MVC) entering play on Wednesday.

The Shockers hold a 20-37 advantage in the all-time series between the two clubs.

The Shockers are led by the hot bats of Junior Cynthia Verhulst, .354 average with 9 homeruns and 25 RBI’s, and Junior Britnee Barnett (.311 BA).

On the mound the Shockers feature Senior Margo Pruis (10-10) who is currently 3rd in the MVC in opponent’s batting average (.185).

The Sycamores are currently led by Sophomore Meredith Simpson, (.344 BA) and Pitcher Darcy Wood (8-11) who is currently 2nd in the MVC with 160 strikeouts for the season.
