Yegge now enters his fifth season as an assistant coach serving as the hitting
and outfielders coach.
In 2006, Yegge oversaw an offense that leaped into the all-time team record
books with 11 homeruns (3rd All-Time) and 68 doubles (2nd All-Time). Yegge also
coachedFreshman Katie Armour whose .377 batting average is good for a 4th place
tie in the Sycamore Individual Record books.
In 2005, Yegge can be credited with the continued development of an ISU batting
lineup. The Sycamores were paced by Stephanie Spychaj’s solid year at
the plate. Under Yegge, the Sycamores earned six Missouri Valley Conference
victories -- the most since 2001.
In 2004, Yegge was instrumental in the team breaking four team offensive records
(Homeruns, Doubles, Base on Balls and at Bats), and finishing in the Top Five
of five statistical categories. Yegge coached Sarah Kothe whose 17 doubles that
year was the most-ever in a single season.
Prior to coming to Indiana State, Yegge was the head coach at North Iowa Area
Community College from 1998-2002 after serving as the assistant coach for two
seasons. While at NIACC, he led the team to its first 30-win season in eight
years and was instrumental in helping seven players advance on to four-year
institutions.
Additionally, Yegge coached 15 all-region selections during his time in Mason
City. Yegge graduated in 2002 from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
The State Center, Iowa native attended NIACC and Buena Vista University. He
continued his athletic career at NIACC where was was a member of the football
team.
Yegge is an active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. He
and his wife, Amy, reside in Terre Haute.
