WRIGHT ADVANCES; FIFE WRAPS UP OUTDOOR T&F CAREER

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Freshman Sean Wright advanced to the finals of the 400-meter dash, while senior Jordan Fife narrowly missed the finals of the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase on the third day of competition at the USA Track and Field Championships and Junior Championships.

Wright, running in the second-fastest heat of the day, posted a seventh-place qualifying time of 47.22. The native of South Bend, Indiana will compete in finals of the junior 400-meter dash Saturday afternoon.

Fife did not far quite as well as his Indiana State teammate with a 16 of 21 finish in the preliminaries of the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. The 8:54.67 performance wraps up the seniors outdoor season that found the Seymour, Indiana native pick up a second-straight All-American citation in the steeplechase event.

In addition to Wright competing in the 400-meter dash final, senior Charlie Sparks will participate in the men’s discus throw on Sunday. Fans can follow all of the action on ESPN2 today from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
