SUNDERLAND NAMED ATHLETE OF WEEK
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State University’s
Curt Sunderland (Ashley, Ind., sophomore) was named the Missouri
Valley Conference men’s field Athlete of the Week for the week of
February 20. Sunderland won the high jump competition at the Hoosier
Hills Invitational at Bloomington, Ind., last Friday with a leap of
6-feet-9 inches (2.06 meters).
Other notable performances by the Sycamores
from last weekends meet were:
Men’s Track – Jordan Fife (Seymour, Ind.
senior) just missed the ISU school record in the mile as he won the
event at the Hoosier Hills Invitational with a time of 4:06.36. That
was just two-hundredths of second off the school record.
Women’s Track – Jeanne Roberts, freshman,
finished third in the 60 meters at the Hoosier Hills Invitational
with a time of 7.69.
Women’s Field – Kylie Hutson (Terre Haute,
Ind., freshman) continued to dominate the pole vault event, taking
first place at the Hoosier Hills Invitational on Friday with a vault
of 3.80 meters.
The Sycamores will be participating in the
Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships this weekend at
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. |
