KUNZ SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD AT
DRAKE RELAYS
DES MOINES, Ia. – Justin Kunz set a new school
record in the 5,000 meters as Indiana State began its competition in
the 98th annual Drake Relays. Kunz finished 12th
in 14:22.43 which broke the mark set by Rick Sluder in 2000 of
14:25.31.
“It was a very rich field that Kunz ran
against,” said John McNichols, ISU men’s coach. “It was a great
race. He has had a great season so far.”
Also on Thursday, Dani Prince competed in the
women’s 5,000 meters, finishing 19th overall in 17:21.53.
“She got out to a fast start,” McNichols said.
“There was a collision and it was pretty rugged early.”

along with three relays competing. Paladin Jordan is the only
individual competing on Friday for the men as he will run in the 110
meter hurdles. The Sycamores have five relays also running on
Friday.
