JEFF MARTIN JOINS ISU TRACK AND FIELD COACHING STAFF

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State track and field coordinator John McNichols announced the addition of Jeff Martin to the Sycamore staff. Martin joins ISU after coaching at Terre Haute South High School and will fill the position vacated by Bill Dinniger.

“I have mixed feelings with this change of the staff,” McNichols said of the hire. “Bill Dinninger has been a key part of our success during his time with us and will be missed. But I am also very excited to bring Jeff Martin, one of the best young coaches in the State, into our program.”

Martin coached the Terre Haute South Braves to a girls track and field regional team championship in 2006 and a boys track and field regional and sectional team championship in 2005. His cross country teams also excelled with boys cross country sectional team championships in 2004 and 2005.

Under his tutelage his athletes have set 14 school records, qualified for state 58 times, named all-state 20 times, captured 12 individual regional championships and 43 individual sectional championships.

Martin will be returning to his alma-mater after graduating from Indiana State in 2001. As a member of the track team from 1997-2001, Martin was a four-year varsity letter winner and six-time All-MVC selection. Prior to Indiana State, Martin was an Indiana state champion at Warren Central High School.

Martin will be joined on the staff with his wife and fourth-year assistant coach Angela (formerly Bruecker) Martin.
