SYCAMORES FALL AT IPFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana State dropped a non-conference matchup with in-state rival IPFW, 3-0, on Sunday evening in Fort Wayne. Game scores were 30-20, 30-26, 30-20.

IPFW earned a victory in game one after hitting .359 and holding the Sycamores to just a .059 attack percentage. The second two games were defensive struggles but the Mastodons were able to pull out both games and improve to 16-3 on the season. The Sycamores fall to 0-20 on the year.

ISU used a balanced attack on the offensive end as six Sycamores posted at least four kills. Freshman Christy Trame led ISU with eight kills and five blocks, including three solo blocks. ISU posted 11 blocks in the match compared to nine for IPFW, but the Mastodons held a 47-35 advantage in kills. Freshman Kristy Cox tied for a match high with 14 digs.

The Sycamores return to conference action next weekend as they travel to Drake on Friday night and Creighton on Saturday.
