SYCAMORES DROP MATCH
TO ILLINOIS STATE

NORMAL, Ill. – Indiana State dropped a 3-0
decision to Illinois State in a MVC contest on Saturday night at
Redbird Arena, as the Redbirds won their seventh straight MVC match
to improve to 7-2 while the Sycamores dropped to 0-9 in conference
action. Game scores were 30-13, 30-21, 30-18.
Illinois State got out to a great start in front of the home crowd
as they recorded a .536 attack percentage in game one and never
gave back the momentum as they were never threatened in the final
two games.
Tessa Wolf led the Sycamores with 10 kills and a .240 attack percentage
and fellow senior Katie Freeman recorded 10 digs to lead the defense.
The Redbirds used a balanced attack as nine players posted multiple
kills. Illinois State was led by Kari Staehlin with 11 kills.
Indiana State plays its first Sunday match of the season against
IPFW in non-conference action on Oct. 16 at 5 pm.
