SYCAMORES FALL TO
MISSOURI STATE IN FIRST MVC ACTION

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Indiana State dropped
a 3-0 decision to Missouri State in the first Missouri Valley Conference
action of the season. The Sycamores were overmatched in the first
game dropping a 30-10 decision and couldn't bounce back losing the
final two games by margins of 30-22 and 30-19. The Sycamores fall
to 0-11, while the Bears improve to 5-5 after facing a tough non-conference
slate.
The Sycamores couldn't get anything going in the match as the Sycamores
were held to 26 kills and a .029 attack percentage, while the Bears
hit .288 with 50 kills. Tessa Wolf and Christy Trame led ISU with
six kills apiece. Sabrina Apker led MSU with 11 kills and a .562
attack percentage.
Freshman Alisha Polite highlighted the Sycamore outing as she posted
three kills, eight assists and three digs in her first significant
action at the setter position. Kristy Cox and Meghan Pollard led
the ISU defense as both posted seven digs.
The Sycamores travel to Wichita, Kan. to face defending MVC champion
and preseason favorite Wichita State on Saturday at 7 pm.
