SYCAMORES END SEASON WITH LOSS TO MISSOURI STATE

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State dropped a 3-0 decision to Missouri State in the regular season finale on Saturday night at ISU Arena. Game scores were 30-17, 30-20, 30-22.

The Sycamores were led by the seniors who were playing in their final home match. Tessa Wolf recorded a team-best 10 kills and finished the season with 301 on the season. Katie Freeman led ISU with 10 digs, while Sara Smith added five kills, five blocks and three digs.

Katie Werges posted a match-high 14 kills, while Sabrina Apker tallied 13 kills and eight blocks for the Bears. MSU led the Sycamores across the box score. The Bears recorded 51 kills with a .336 attack percentage, while ISU had 38 kills and a .163 hitting mark. MSU also had eight aces compared to one for the Sycamores and owned an 10-7 blocking edge.

The Bears clinched second place and the second seed in the MVC tournament as they finished the year with a 15-3 conference mark and a 22-8 overall record. The Sycamores end the 2005 campaign with a 0-29 overall record.
