SYCAMORES DOWNED BY NORTHERN IOWA

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State dropped a 3-0 decision to Northern Iowa in a MVC contest on Saturday night at ISU Arena. Game scores were 30-18, 30-26, 30-22.

UNI was on fire as they cruised to a win in game one by pounding out 20 kills with a .400 attack percentage, while holding ISU to nine kills and a .054 attack mark. The Sycamores scored the first six points in the second game to gain some momentum. However, UNI calmly regained control with a 6-0 run which gave them an 18-13 lead and they would never give it up. ISU jumped to an early lead again in game four but the UNI attack was too much as the Panthers again hit over .400.

ISU was led by Tessa Wolf who recorded 14 kills and a .290 attack percentage. Alisha Polite registered 18 assists, six kills and six digs. Meghan Pollard tallied a team-high 12 digs while Christy Trame added a match-high six blocks.

UNI's Lauren Rowen posted a double-double with a team-high 13 kills and 14 digs, while Kristin Belzung tallied seven kills in 11 attacks and added 43 assists.

For the match, UNI tallied a .341 attack percentage with 58 kills, while ISU had 36 kills and a .178 hitting mark.

UNI improves to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the MVC, while ISU falls to 0-18 on the season. The Sycamores face Illinois State next weekend in MVC action on Saturday before taking on IPFW in non-conference action on Sunday.
