SYCAMORES STUMBLE AGAINST CREIGHTON

Terre Haute, Ind. - - - Coming off their victory against Drake a night before the Sycamores looked to continue their winning ways against a tough opponent in the Creighton University Bluejays. The Bluejays, however, proved to be too much to handle as they came away with the victory in straight games (3-0). With the loss the Sycamores fall to (4-13, 1-5 MVC) while the Bluejays climb to (13-3, 5-0 MVC).

The Sycamores had trouble getting things going offensively as they had only one player in double-digit kills, Freshman Kelli Whitaker. Sophomore Kristy Cox also chipped in with her usual steady play at the libero position with 10 digs. The Bluejays seemed to spread the offense around as Kelly Goc led the team in kills with 12 and a .375 attack percentage but three other players also racked up attack totals above .300.

Game one went the way of the Bluejays by a score of (30-15) before the Sycamores showed some life in the second game, at one point leading 20-15 before falling (30-22). The third game ended (30-18) in favor of the Bluejays as the Sycamores seemed to have no answer to the Bluejay attack.

The Sycamores play only one game next weekend and it is at home against another MVC conference team, Illinois State. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM (ET) in the ISU Arena.
