SYCAMORES STUMBLE AGAINST CREIGHTON

Omaha, Neb. - - - Friday night (10/27) the Sycamores traveled to face a tough Creighton squad who boasted a 15-6 (7-3 MVC) record entering the match. The Sycamores struggled to find answers as they played without their primary setter, Freshman Whitney Nichols. For the night the Sycamores totaled a mere 26 sets, led by Freshman Stacey Secrest who totaled 16 as she stepped into the role as setter replacing the injured Nichols.

The Sycamores fell in straight games (0-3) by scores of (16-30, 27-30, 19-30). The loss moved the Creighton record up to 16-6 (8-3 MVC) and dropped the Sycamore record to 4-19 (1-11 MVC).

The key contributors to the Sycamore effort were Freshman Kelli Whitaker, 13 kills, and Sophomore Kristy Cox, 15 digs. Creighton relied on Abby Baumann, 18 kills and 10 digs, and Kelly Goc, 12 kills and 3 blocks.

The Sycamores are in action once again tomorrow night as they travel to face Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. The match is set to start at 7 pm (Central).
