Assistant Coach

First Season

Beginning her first season with the Indiana State women's basketball program under head coach Jim Wiedie is Sarah Shackle. She will serve as the program's assistant coach and will help coordinate the popular Sycamore Squad kid's booster club.

Shackle joins the Sycamores after a successful three-year run as an assistant coach with the University of Indianapolis.

"Sarah is someone who gained a lot of experience as well in working with a very successful Greyhound program as both a coach and player," Wiedie said. "With all the right pieces in place, we look forward to continuing to build a program that the community will be excited to be a part of."

Shackle played on the Greyhounds’ 2002-03 team that won a school-record 29 games and the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.

She earned the Kelso Reid Mental Attitude Award in her senior season after helping the Hounds to a 23-9 mark and their second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

Shackle graduated from UIndy with a degree in Exercise Science.

"I am very excited to be a member of the Sycamore women’s basketball program," Shackle said. "I was able to come over for a couple of games last season and it is going to be great to be a part of a program that the community is so excited about."
