TERRE HAUTE, Ind. –
On the strength of 26 forced turnovers, the Indiana
State women’s basketball team notched a 66-59
victory over the Indiana Hoosiers Monday night at
Hulman Center. The win over the Hoosiers is the
first for Indiana State since a 75-73 victory in
1989, snapping IU’s six game winning streak over the
Sycamores. Indiana State improves its record to 4-1,
while Indiana drops to 3-3.
Stephanie Lisch led the way for the Sycamores
with 15 points, a season-high. The Belleville, Ill. native shot
7-11 from the field and finished with four rebounds in 33 minutes
of play. Ashley Clark and Melanie Boeglin each pitched in 14
points.

career-high 30 points on 10-15 shooting from the floor. Sarah
McKay came off the bench to add 12 points and eight rebounds.
LeeAnn Stephenson pitched in a season-high 10 points in the losing
effort for the Hoosiers.
A relentless ISU defense was the key to the
game, as it scored 25 points off of IU’s 26 turnovers. The
Sycamores turned the ball over 12 times, leading to 15 points for
the Hoosiers. Both teams shot an identical 42.9 percent from the
floor. Indiana out-rebounded the Sycamores 38-29.
The crowd of 3,051 was the fourth-largest in
school history and the biggest home crowd since the Hoosiers last
trip to Terre Haute on December 6, 1998.
The Sycamores will return to the court on
Thursday night, December 8, when they host Eastern Kentucky.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm with the ISU men’s basketball game
