Dr. Mikolaj received his doctorate from The Ohio State University in mathematical genetics. Prior to coming to ISU, he spent ten years in the insurance industry, culminating this experience as an officer and vice-president of a professional liability insurer where he was responsible for the company's statistical reporting and insurance department filings. His current research interest is in the area of collaborative, problem-based-learning. Dr. Mikolaj teaches Commercial Property, Commercial Liability, Employee Benefits, and Risk Management. He also presents industry workshops for RIMS, the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.
