How to Add a Forum to Discussion

To add a discussion to your Blackboard course you will first need to access your course. Once you are in your course click on the Control Panel link at the bottom of the navigation buttons.

In course tools click on Discussion Boards.

To add a discussion topic click on the Add Forum button.

A new window will open where you will be able to customize this particular discussion.

In this window you will give the discussion a Title and short description or instructions.

You will also need to select Forum Settings.  For example:

The last item you may elect to use is giving other administrative rights or blocking users from posting.  This is not the same as creating a discussion group.  That will be shown later.

Click on submit and the discussion receipt will open.  To complete this action click on OK and the new forum will appear in the discussion board.
