Application Guidelines

The Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology is offering a Course Transformation Grant Program initiative. The goal of this initiative is for faculty to use technology seamlessly so that the technology itself becomes a transparent and integral tool to teach core curriculum. The purpose of the Course Transformation Grant Program is to provide faculty with resources needed to redesign/design and implement course changes and to provide funding for additional materials and training that may be required. Faculty is encouraged to collaborate with other faculty to jointly submit a proposal.

The proposed pedagogical changes must substantively involve the transformation of multi-sections of a single course, or multi-course Foundational Studies to support the incorporation of instructional technology into the redesigned courses to address one or more of the following areas:

The Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology can provide support through a wide range of services – instructional designers, multi-media design services, visualization technologies to assist in the design or transformation of a course(s). Faculty is strongly encouraged to utilize these services in their redesign efforts.

Grant proposals must fully address the following components:

  1. Description of the project.
  2. Transformation Plan.
    • Connection to at least one of the four areas above.
    • Objectives for transformation.
    • Expected outcomes.
    • Timeline (not to exceed one calendar year).
  3. Detailed grant budget**.
  4. Assessment plan.
