Indiana State University (ISU) has agreements in place to foster cooperation with
several universities around the globe. The result of such agreements have been
international student exchanges, faculty exchanges, joint distance education courses
and the development of new courses and programs in conjunction with ISU’s international
partners.
Consequently, the need for specialized training for both the ISU host faculty
member and the faculty member from ISU’s international partner institution emerged.
Pedagogical training which integrates technology has been provided for ISU faculty
members and faculty from ISU’s partner institutions. Since each project is unique in
nature, specialized services have been provided. Below is a sampling of some of the
instructional design services that have been provided:
Individual and group distance education training (pedagogical as well as technical) for visiting faculty from:
Rajabhat Institute-Surat Thani, Thailand
Tambov State University, Russia
Liaoning University, China
Hassan II University, Morocco
Osaka University, Japan.
Instructional Design consultations for faculty delivering courses (both on-line and face-to-face) to Cyprus from ISU’s Dept. of Recreation and Sport Management (RCSM).
Blackboard training for students from Morocco who came to ISU as a result of the Dept. of Recreation and Sport Management grant program.
Creation of a CD template for course delivery to those students in Morocco who did not have internet access.
Worked with Dept. of Social Work (ISU and Tambov State University, Russia) faculty members to design, produce and deliver an on-line course for access by both ISU students and students from Tambov State University, Tambov, Russia.
Instructional Designer attended chat sessions during a joint ISU/TSU (Russia) distance education course for consultation purposes upon request of the faculty members.
Interface with International Affairs Office to provide opportunities for visiting scholars to participate in faculty development programs.
