Project PRE

Introduction

In October 2003, Indiana State University was awarded a $3.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The five-year grant is part of a $6 million project that gives the tripartite of the College of Education, Professional Development Schools Partnership and the content areas represented by the College of Arts & Sciences and other professional schools that uses resources to transform the teacher education programs of the University.

The new teacher education programs will include more clinically-based programs as well as providing education students with more opportunities to be involved in earlier teaching experiences. The grant will also focus on offering professional development to teachers already in the field, school principals, and faculty of the University.
