The elementary (K-5) program is cohort-based and includes 24 semester hours of coursework which is taken in a defined sequence. The coursework begins with an intensive seminar in the summer and extends over an academic year, concluding with a capstone course the following summer.
The application deadline for each summer cohort is February 1 of each year. Applications will only be accepted from January 1 - February 1. Should too few applicants be received or approved for the summer cohort, applicants will be notified by February 15 and their $75 application fees will be returned.
Coursework for the Elementary Transition to Teaching program includes related field experiences in K-6 school settings, with extensive mentoring from university supervisors and outstanding practicing elementary teachers. Fees are based on current graduate hours costs and fees as well as student teaching costs.

Complete applications for admission are due no later than February 1 of each year, and will only be accepted between January 1 - February 1. Cohorts will begin First Summer Session immediately following acceptance.
