The secondary (6-12) program is a uniquely designed, flexible-schedule, alternative graduate-level program for licensure in secondary content areas currently offered at ISU. The curriculum is composed of 18 semester hours of study in diverse teaching pedagogy and adolescent development with supervised field experiences. Most courses are offered online and include field experiences that can be adapted to accommodate working individuals. Candidates will complete field work and a student teaching experience with co-mentoring and supervision from university faculty and outstanding practicing teachers.
Fees are based on current graduate costs and fees as well as student teaching costs. NOTE: There is an additional course fee of $1000 associated with CIMT501 and CIMT602.
Complete applications for admission to the Secondary Transition program are due no later than February 1 for enrollment in the next available Summer cohort. Applications are accepted only during the open application time which is January 1 -- February 1.
