This graduate licensure program is designed for the business education teacher (grades 5-12) who wishes to add an additional licensure in the area of vocational business education.
The program consists of two courses (6 credit hours) that are offered on-line (via the Internet) in the summer. Students can complete all course requirements in one summer. Courses are developed and taught by faculty of the College of Business, Indiana State University.
In addition to successful completion of the two courses, students must provide proof of 1,500 supervised work hours (or 4,000 unsupervised work hours) to be recommended for the Vocational Business Licensure.
The College of Business is accredited by the AACSB International--The Association To Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Scheduling
Courses are offered via the Internet -- during the summer. Students can complete
all coursework in one summer. On-campus visits are not required. Due to demand
for this program, students should apply early and register during Priority
Registration to ensure acceptance into the program. Preference is given to
Indiana teachers. For details, see "Eligibility" and "Getting Started" and
"Computer Requirements" (below).

Coordination Techniques for Cooperative Education and In-School Laboratories--3 hours. The course emphasizes practices and procedures in the operation of cooperative occupational education program and/or in-school laboratories with emphasis on program development and assessment.

Foundations of Career and Technical Education--3 hours.
This course provides the philosophy, background, nature, purpose, and role
of career and technical education programs in secondary and
postsecondary education and workforce development with emphasis on
curriculum, assessment, and student organizations.

Computer Requirements
This on-line program includes lectures delivered via video and audio (on
demand). Students must have:
- High-speed (broadband) Internet connection (for example, Ethernet, DSL, Cable, Satellite, or High-Speed Wireless)
- A headset or microphone and speakers
- A web camera is preferred (but optional)

Eligibility
- A baccalaureate degree granted by a regionally accredited institution.
- An undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
- A current State of Indiana Teaching License. If one wishes to add a vocational business education teaching license to an existing teaching license from some state other than Indiana, contact Education Student Services (below) for assistance.

- The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is not required.

How To Begin
Subsequent to reviewing Eligibility (steps 1-4 above), please complete the

| Step 1: Admission |

Submit to the School of Graduate Studies a fully completed Non-Degree Admission Application (below) with a non-refundable admission application fee of $35.00 payable by credit card, money order, or check payable to Indiana State University. IMPORTANT ! On the application, indicate that enrollment is to begin Summer I term and indicate the program of study as: Licensure-Vocational Business Education (College of Business). Submit to School of Graduate Studies official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution.
Non-Degree Admission: Once admitted, students receive a Sycamore login and password (via regular postal service) for the MyISU Portal. The Portal offers students access to online registration, their University records, and other University services, including e-mail, and University announcements. Once admitted, students should contact the Academic Advisor (below) for information on registering and instructions for beginning their online courses. Students will register during Priority Scheduling (April) for the Summer I term. Registration after April will be considered (on a space available basis) through the first day of class in May. To access online courses, log on to the MyISU Portal at http://myisu.indstate.edu and click the My Courses tab. Typically, courses are not accessible until the first day.
