Welcome
The study of English at Indiana State University cultivates a
critical understanding and appreciation of literary works of all
ages and cultures; develops an understanding of language and its
functions in society; and enhances skill in writing, both practical
and artistic. Undergraduate work in English prepares students for
teaching, administrative, and writing-related careers in education,
business, industry, and government. The study of English also is an
excellent preprofessional major for students considering graduate or
professional studies in the humanities, law, or business.
