About the program

Focus Indiana is a collaboration between Indiana State University, private industry, and community leadership aimed at the creation of career opportunities for Indiana State University graduates. Focus Indiana is supported by a grant from the Lilly Endowment.

Specific goals of the program are:
• Increase the number of ISU students completing internships in Indiana.
• Support economic and social development by stimulating internships in underserved areas, particularly west-central Indiana
• Actively engage ISU alumni in the development of experiential learning opportunities, including internships.
• Develop internships in entrepreneurial organizations and potential growth industries in the state and in mission driven organizations that are creatively meeting the human, social, and cultural needs of the state.
• Challenge academic units to identify and develop programs that contribute directly to students’ professional development, statewide economic development, and the creation of economic opportunities for ISU graduates.
