Joan Miro (1893 - 1983)
Born in Spain
and studied at Barcelona Ecole des Beaux Arts and the Academic Gali.
Colleagues with the likes of Picasso, Calder, Ernst, and Ernest
Hemmingway, Miro followed the tenets of Surrealism. His primitive
symbolism and automatism influenced the likes of Mark Rothko and
Adolph Gottlieb.
