Permanent Art Collection

Jose Louis Cuevas (1934-)

Lived in Mexico, known for Misshapen Figures, Engraver, and Sculptor.

Self taught Mexican artist was active politically during the 1950’s and was opposed to the socialist artists who were active in defining their content through mural art.

His imagery articulates the divisions between the classes and the expanding gap between rich and poor in contemporary Mexican society.
