Her 1934 book of caricatures entitled “Off With Their Heads”, established her
as a major American satirest. A student of John Sloan and George Bellows
at the Art Students League where she developed her printmaking skills
and focused on the speciality of dry-point etchings.
Born in Paris, France, and studied at Yale. Marsh is most known for his
egg tempera paintings of life depicting urban-realism. A teacher at the
Art Students League for twenty years.
Studied architecture at Columbia but quickly transitioned into the fine arts
where he received much acclaim as a painter and printmaker. Known also
for his social activism representing artists’ rights.
Born in California and studied at the San Diego School of Fine Arts,
Freeman after moving to New York focused his attention on editorial
work and illustration. With thirty-three published credits to his name.
His subject matter was a more optimistic and up-lifting vision of New York.
Student at Tufts College but is primarily considered a self-taught artist.
A master of relief print techniques, his subject matter includes landscapes, rivers,
hunters, and dogs.
Born in New Ulm, Minnesota and a student at the Minneapolis College of Art.
Gained acclaim as a childerens book illustrator, including 1928 “Millions of Cats”
and 1933 “The ABC Bunny”. Her stories were influenced by folktales she heard as a child.
