Permanent Art Collection
Roy Lichtenstein
(1923-1997)
Born in New
York and studied with Reginald Marsh at the Art Students League. In
the 1960’s he began to integrate images from mass culture and
advertising and more specifically from romance and war comic books
from the 1950’s. These images placed him at the forefront of the
art world as a seminal figure in the pop art movement.
